Within 200 meters (~656 feet) The Darkwalker's exact distance is shown, and the player is afflicted by 'Anxiety' (preventing sleep and passing time) unless a Ward glyph is present.The first 15 minutes of a game are a 'grace period' before The Darkwalker will spawn and it is not tied to real-time, one hour of a time-accelerated task equals 30 seconds on the timer.Care should be taken with time-accelerating tasks such as sleeping or harvesting, especially with many notes collected. The Darkwalker's speed is not tied to real-time movement.The Darkwalker moves at 2 meters (~6.56 feet) per second, increasing for each collected diary note (up to to 4m/s). Audio cues and music will play based on its current distance. It constantly chases the player across all regions, indoors, vehicles, mines and caves. It moves through terrain and buildings, and without respect to elevation. The Darkwalker is indestructible and intangible. Once all notes are collected, the player must head to Ash Canyon to complete the challenge.

There are ten diary pages to be collected, one in each major region (excluding Ash Canyon) beside a green camp fire (revealed on the map). Upon starting Escape The Darkwalker an extinguished campfire and supplies can be found close by, along with an introductory note.

The long dark feats Patch#

The Escape the Darkwalker patch includes two new event-related challenge badges, the feat 'Darkwalker' and the 'Endless Night' option for custom survival mode. Strategy will be required to plan how one travels through the world. Toxic Fog ruins food, water and damages Condition. The Darkwalker cannot be hurt or killed, merely slowed by painting glyphs to lure or ward it away.ДЄny region may be selected to start, but after ~30 real-time minutes the current region will fill with Toxic Fog, forcing the player to leave. To win all 10 diary pages must be collected and the entity banished in Ash Canyon. Unlocking merely grants you the feat without going about the normal means of obtaining it.In Escape the Darkwalker the time is permanently set to midnight and the player is stalked by an invisible entity: 'The Darkwalker' which will try to eat them. Some new players might assume that you must unlock the feats obtained with another character before you can obtain them on another, this is a misconception brought about by the term 'unlock'. However, those feats you could buy with replay badges are still obtainable as normal. Its not necessary to use replay badges, instead they are a way to speed up skill point progression by effectively buying feats that you've already obtained on another character. an acrobat cannot unlock super-speed related feats and vice versa.ДЎ skill point is achieved every 100 feat points, thus you need to spend 100-120 replay badges to level up a character 10 skill points and 1000-1200 replay badges to level up a character 100 skill points. Unlockable feats will have a small green button in the overviews of the feat menu.ДЇeats can only be unlocked if they are shared between characters.

The long dark feats update#

Since game update 34 feats the player has achieved with another character can be unlocked with replay badges. The star rating also indicates how many points you receive upon completion. The number of points awarded for completing each feat varies based on difficulty, easy feats award 10 points whereas the most difficult/time consuming award 50 points.Д®ach feat has a star rating, which reflects the difficulty of accomplishing that feat. Completing feats will allow you to gain new skill points beyond what you can achieve through leveling alone.
